That is pretty eerie about the bullet holes. Thinking about Whitman and the whole situation that went down that day turns my stomach. It's always been true, and history backs this up, that people are capable of acts of amazing depravity and destruction. If it wasn't for Jesus's blood and the regenerating activity of the Holy Spirit, who among us would be capable of living a "good" life?
